❗️ SOS ❗️
Friends we have an immediate need for a hospice home for Dutch. Please spread the word so this wonderful senior can live out the remainder of his life in a loving, fun (yep – he is still up to having some fun), safe home. ❤️
Dutch was surrendered to the shelter after his owner lost his home and was living with someone where the neighbor’s dog and Dutch did not get along. The two dogs got into a fight, causing minor injuries to both dogs; but, it was determined that Dutch would be the one to leave the home. While shelter staff was performing his medical assessment, and tending to his wounds, it was discovered that Dutch had some abnormal masses on his body. Evaluation of the masses concluded that Dutch has systemic mast cell tumor cancer.
Dutch is a great senior dog and deserves to live out his remaining time on this Earth in a home. Therefore, we are reaching out through social media to see if we can connect Dutch with someone willing to take on this challenge 🥰 So let’s tell you a bit about Dutch! Dutch has a good level of energy and would love to play for short stints or go on causal strolls. He is happy and friendly and enjoys affection and will let you know if he wants more loving and attention 😃 Dutch likes to look you right in the eyes and give you a silly grin, it’s hard to tell if he trying to convince you to give him yummy snacks or a belly rub; but the combo of his sweet senior eyes and goofy grin will be sure to get you wrapped around his finger/paw 😊 He would do well in a home with children 10 years old and up, but will need to be the only pet in the home so he can relax and receive all your love and attention. Dutch is 9 years old, heart worm negative, and weighs approximately 64 pounds.
