This beautiful boy was surrendered to our shelter by his owner of 11 years on June 2, 2020, after being found as a stray and bottle-fed as a baby. His owner had developed allergies and could no longer keep him. His estimated birthdate is June 28th, 2009. When brought in to the shelter, he was so frightened, he tried to hide behind his scratching pad and wish the world away. After 11 years in a home, he had no idea what he could have done wrong.
A couple of weeks later, in mid-June, he was brought over to Wishbone House in Douglas, where he could be given individualized attention and love by our volunteers, live in a communal room until a home came along, and learn that he was going to be okay. Even though still a bit shy, he has made steady progress and will gratefully climb into our laps to be petted. He’s won the hearts of everyone, and some lucky person will soon have a wonderful pet.
As an added bonus, one of our volunteers paid for Winston to be taken for a complete dental cleaning, and senior blood work. All reports were great. He is a healthy man for his age.
